2008 Wesh National Result

Irish trained Notre Pere stayed on superbly to win the 2008 Welsh National at Chepstow. The 16-1 chance, who is trained by Jim Dreaper and was ridden by Andrew Lynch, moved into contention alongside Sherwoods Folly and Officier de Reserve three fences from home. He the took a commanding lead and was never challenged from two fences out. The Paul Nicholls trained Cornish Sett held off the 2006 Welsh National winner and last year's runner-up Halcon Genelardais for second with the other Nicholls entrant, Officier de Reserve back in fourth.

Notre Pere who finished third in the 2008 Irish Grand National, showed his great staying power once again and overcame a minor mistake at the third last to power home.
