Welsh Grand National Betting 2011
The 2011 Welsh National Odds are now up. The 2008 winner was the 16/1 shot Notre Pere who proved himself an excellent stayer on soft ground which is vital if a horse is to do well here. The same can be said of Dream Ahead who won on heavy going in 2009 to claim an unlikely win after an injury lay-off.
Each year the Welsh National betting market is generally very open as this race is a handicap and as such all the Welsh National runners are weighted to finish in a line, but this never happens, especially in this race as it is always run on really soft ground and the horses are usually stretched out like the runners in a long distance marathon.
Another reason for the Coral Welsh National betting being so open is that a number of relatively unexposed jumpers take their place in the line up and as such reading the Welsh National form can be difficult and as such it can be difficult to discount any of the participants resulting in a very open betting market. Welsh Grand National Main Bets
For these Grand Nationals such as the Aintree Grand National, the Irish Grand National and the Scottish Grand National there are many people who tend to have their very first bet. For those of you who fall into this category there are two types of bet that you should be aware of.
Backing your selection to Win
This is the most popular form of bet and simply it is putting your investment on your selection to win the race. Usually the favourite for this race goes off at around 4/1 and if you place a £10 win bet on say the favourite you will win four times your stake if your selection win.
Having an Each Way Bet
Each way online betting is exactly the same as a win bet except that you double your investment and get a place option for the second part of your bet. Therefore if you had the same £10 bet on the favourite each way and the favourite wins at 4/1 you win the first part of the bet at four times your stake and 1/4 the odds for the second part of your bet in this case that is even money and so you will win in total £50. Should the favourite not win but come either 2nd, 3rd or 4th you will just win the place part of the each way bet and in this case you will win £10 for this part of the bet so in effect you will come out all square as you will have lost the win part of this bet.
